Meet Lauren Pietra, LMFT
Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here.
My Therapy style
I discovered my strengths as an empath and healer while navigating my own therapy journey. I have experienced first-hand the vulnerability and courage it takes to participate in a therapeutic relationship that offers both empowerment and space to explore and accept the many parts of myself.
My style is warm, direct, and infused with humor - I create a safe space to explore identity, relationships, trauma, and family dynamics. I pull from approaches that are holistic, relational, and trauma-informed, including focusing on parts work, attachment, and mindfulness. Our work together will be personalized around your specific needs.
As a queer woman, I also understand the complexity of gender and sexuality in our identities and relationships. I am passionate about supporting other LBGTQ+ individuals, Highly Sensitive People (HSP), parents of young children, and couples seeking to better understand one another. Working with couples, I utilize The Developmental Model and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Originally from Southern California, I earned my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from USC. Prior to licensure, I worked in community mental health with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds with a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, complex family situations, and survivors of intimate partner violence. I am also experienced in exploring issues related to parenting, including providing concrete tools for individuals and groups.
I have also been featured in articles on the mental health publication Verywell Mind.
